New Moon Reading: It's a man's, man's world

This reading was done during the New Moon, on June 14, and as we approach the Full Moon, I confess it still... eludes me somehow. 'Crowded' spreads, such as this one, tend to be trickier for me. Nevertheless, let's see what we can gather from it.

The first thing that leaps out at me is the 9♣ in the Head position, because it also happened to be the Gate card of the period in which the reading was done. According to Ana Cortez, this adds to the immediacy and the significance of the events in the spread. We also have three male figures – Galahad (even though the 9♣ is not a court card per se), Dango (J♦) and Leo (K♦) –, all odd numbers, which gives this spread a strong 'yang' vibe.

However, the only dignified card in the spread is the 4♥, the West Wind, a harmonious card, but also one that feels weak compared to the others around it, especially due to its low number. Nevertheless, it is in a very good position!

Another aspect that gets my attention is the fact that Dango and Galahad's heads are overlapping, and they are looking in the same direction, as if they were sharing a single brain/vision. Considering their suits are compatible (Diamonds and Clubs, Fire and Air), this feels like an auspicious combination!

So, how do we connect all this? Good question, and this is where I feel stuck at. Crowded readings usually tell me that there are many external forces influencing the situation. The querent will probably be much in demand by others (or will be dependant on them), and will have to get involved in matters that are not their own.

I read somewhere that the Jacks always behave better when the King of their suit is around. So the J♦ is likely displaying his best characteristic here: courage, charisma, independence and good luck. With the 4♥ between Jack and King, I almost get the impression Dango is trying to 'please' Leo somehow, and that he's being inspired by high ideals (9♣) to do so.

I feel like this is a more active lunar cycle, especially when compared to the last few months. There is a greater focus on getting things done, and also many outside influences demanding attention. Getting into the good graces of an authority figure will be important and beneficial at this moment. Connections and/or relationships with men are particularly emphasised here.

Even the Geomancy of this reading points to that. The first witness is Puer, a masculine figure. The second witness, Laetitia, meaning joy. And the judge is Acquisitio, gain. Again, keeping harmonious relationships to the men who enter our orbit will pay off. How? No idea yet! Perhaps it will become clearer when the Full Moon sheds its light on the second half of the current lunar cycle...
